A Weekend of Racing

First off- yes, that IS my happy face!

This past weekend I was crew on a friend’s 34′ Catalina for the Corinthian Yacht Club Midwinter races. Cold, overcast, and despite a prediction of near calm, gusts of up to 18 knots of wind. Overall, great sailing!

Not terribly much to say about the races other than they were fun. Racing sailboats really makes you pay attention to sailing technique like sail trim, wind angle, how tides impact speed to the markers, etc.

Cheers. More on the sailboat decision process (snark included) to follow soon.
